Abstract Citizen is the newest group from guitarist and composer Aaron Lebos. The band performs modern jazz, and most of its music was written in the first months of the pandemic. Lebos is a Miami native who has been an active member of the music scene since he was 16 years old. He has played with some of the biggest names in South Florida such as Nicole Henry, Spam All-Stars, Nu Deco Ensemble and his previous original group Aaron Lebos Reality. John’s drumming has been described as always being in service to the song, when supporting singer-songwriters and laying down grooves. In the next breath, he can be heard pushing boundaries, while playing open, modern, improvised music/jazz. John is also a respected educator, teaching at the Frost School of Music - University of Miami, for over 20 years. A native of Detroit, John began playing in the school wind ensemble at the age of 10, and started working professionally playing drumset at 13 in local rock, blues, and R&B bands. Moving to Miami, Florida, he continued playing percussion and drumset, and in college eventually decided on the drum set as his main area of focus. Leaving school to play and record with jazz great Ira Sullivan, John eventually joined trombone legend Curtis Fuller for the better part of a year. EZ E Trio Eric Escanes is a French/American guitarist based in Miami. Four time Grammy Nominated working with Rhiannon Giddens, Valerie June and Cimafunk. Eric has played in many different bands and projects over the years. At the moment he is playing and touring with national act Flo Rida and his main project Electric Kif. He has played and recorded with artists such as George Clinton, Jack Splash, Bobby Caldwell, Brazilian Girls, Andy Garcia, Mayday, Robin Thicke, John Newman, Trombone Shorty, Doug Wimbish, Nigel Hall and many more. Golpes Libres Degnis Bofill is a Cuban drummer, percussionist, vocalist, and composer. He is well versed in an array of percussion instruments and a connoisseur of Cuban’s unique rhythmic tradition. A vastly experienced performer, he has toured the world, and performed alongside Arturo O’Farrill, Orlando Valle “Maraca”, Néstor Torres, Bobby Carcassés, Jon Cleary, Dave Weckl, Blondie, Brian Lynch, Jaques Morelenbaum, Daymé Arocena, Lula Galvão, Omara Potruondo. Degnis’ directs his own ensemble, Golpes Libres (Free Hits), mixing Afro-Cuban traditional music and modern jazz, combining intricate textures, improvisation, and elaborate harmonic work. He is also a music educator, and offers workshops. Degnis won a Latin Grammy for the album Ancestros Sinfónico in the category of Best Folk Album with the band Síntesis. He has recorded on more than 30 albums with some of the above mentioned artists and others. Will Crandell Will Crandell is an innovative young jazz drummer who was a winner of the 2016 National YoungArts Merit award in the jazz discipline. He was also awarded Outstanding Drummer awards at the Essentially Ellington jazz festival in 2015 and 2016. He has performed in and around the Seattle and Detroit areas both as a sideman and with his own bands, playing everything from swinging straight-ahead jazz to progressive modern sounds of today. Will is fortunate to have studied with such greats as Randy Gelispie, Matt Wilson, Kendrick Scott, and Ted Poor as well as performed with Randy Napoleon, Etienne Charles, Diego Rivera, Michael Dease, and JD Allen, among others. Lotus Collective Lotus Collective is a group of world-class musicians who blend jazz, funk, and Latin sounds, influenced by bands like Los Amigos Invisibles, Jamiroquai, and Tom Misch. Their debut album, *Where is Edgar?*, produced by Cheo Pardo, features a first single set for release on April 11th at Lagniappe, followed by another on May 9th at Zey Zey. The band comprises singer-guitarist Ivan Leyton and bassist-vocalist Samuel Little, who previously played together in the Venezuelan band Bomboyash, along with keyboardist Julian Bermudez, saxophonist Marcelo Romero, and drummer Marvin Clairsaint, all bringing their jazz backgrounds to the group's sound. Oigo Trio Adrian Gonzalez-Arredondo was born in a valley somewhere in the north of South America, raised by a first-class family in the third world. He studied piano, guitar and solfege at the Conservatorio Juan Jose Landaeta for 7 years until moving to Miami at the age of 14. Became a multi-instrumentalist out of curiosity and happenstance. Later on became a vocalist out of necessity and circumstance. He's got no Grammys or Junos or awards to boast about (except for the top prize at the 2000 Miami-Dade Community College - Kendall Campus Composition Contest, where he graduated from the Honors Department). Performed at numerous festivals throughout the country with many a bands in the past 25 years, but mostly with local stalwarts Suenalo, with whom he’s played for the last 13 years. He also spearheads his own project OIGO, a non-genre specific outfit focused on groove, songwriting and good times. Adrian has a knack for writing familiarly sounding original tunes.
