Tom Lippincott Eight- and six-string guitarist Tom Lippincott was born in New Jersey and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but has made South Florida his home since 1988. He has a bachelor's degree in jazz studies from the University of North Texas as well as a master's in jazz performance from the University of Miami. Tom teaches jazz guitar at Florida International University and Broward College. He also teaches lessons in person and online, conducts clinics and workshops, and has jazz guitar classes available through Mike’s Master Classes. As a longtime contributor to the South Florida jazz community, Tom has played and recorded extensively with many of the area’s musicians and bands. He has also performed throughout the world as both sideman and leader and has performed and/or recorded with jazz luminaries John Stowell, Jonathan Kreisberg, Ben Monder, Dave Liebman, Don Friedman, and Ed Schuller. In addition to previous recordings such as his 2000 release Painting the Slow Train Brown, Tom has been featured as a performer and composer recently on David Fernandez’s Land, as well as the upcoming release from Rodolfo Zuniga’s band Surfaces with Strings featuring Camila Meza. The Lotus Collective Lotus Collective is a group of world-class musicians who blend jazz, funk, and Latin sounds, influenced by bands like Los Amigos Invisibles, Jamiroquai, and Tom Misch. Their debut album, *Where is Edgar?*, produced by Cheo Pardo, features a first single set for release on April 11th at Lagniappe, followed by another on May 9th at Zey Zey. The band comprises singer-guitarist Ivan Leyton and bassist-vocalist Samuel Little, who previously played together in the Venezuelan band Bomboyash, along with keyboardist Julian Bermudez, saxophonist Marcelo Romero, and drummer Marvin Clairsaint, all bringing their jazz backgrounds to the group's sound. In 2024-25, they are curating a series of funk events, starting with a sold-out show titled *What the Funk* in December 2024. |

Hymn for Her Hymn for Her have been busy touring across the country and abroad over the past few years, injecting juiced-up backwoods country blues with a dose of desert rock psychedelia that has been described as “Hell’s Angels meets the Amish,” and “Hillbillies with electronics opening Pandora’s Box” Hymn For Her is on the road again spreading their juiced up, down-home, roots rock and roll. From ruckus outlaw to country folk, their sounds will shake your bones and soothe your soul. Their most recent 2024 release, ‘Bloodier Than Blood,’ is Hymn For Her’s official debut as a family band. Lucy & Wayne started as a duo, raising their daughter, Diver, on the road in their vintage Bambi Airstream trailer. At an early age, Diver began joining her parents on stage to sing a song or two. Their first album, ‘Year of the Golden Pig’, was recorded in their bedroom and mixed by Phil Nicolo (Lauryn Hill) in their hometown of Philly, PA. Their 2nd album, ‘Lucy & Wayne & The amAirican Stream’, was recorded in the airstream on a U.S coast to coast tour, mixed by Jim Diamond (White Stripes) at Ghetto Recorders, Detroit, MI. The 3rd album, ‘Lucy & Wayne’s Smokin’ Flames’, was recorded and mixed by Jim Diamond at Ghetto Records. Their 4th release, ‘Drive Til U Die’, was 1/2 recorded in Nashville, TN with grammy award winning, Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton). The other half in NC, with Mitch Easter (R.E.M.). The 5th album, ‘Pop-N-Downers’ was recorded and mixed at Sputnik Studio with Vance, along with his right hand man, Mike Fahey. This release was written up in Rolling Stone and landed H4H a spot at UK’s Glastonbury Festival alongside Radiohead and Foo Fighters. Addison Rifkind Addison Rifkind is a guitarist and bandleader from Studio City, CA based in Miami, FL. His unique style is rooted in the blues, soul, and bebop with deep grooves and melodic playing as its emphasis. He is the leader of the soul jazz guitar trio Fat Produce, the funky organ trio The Glades and instrumental soul band Soul Vaccinators. He is also one of the rotating guitarists for organ groove band Scone Cash Players, who just released their latest album on Daptone Records! The debut record for Fat Produce, Fresh Squeeze, is now on F-Spot Records out of Los Angeles. Addison’s group Soul Vaccinators recently released a 45 on Tiki Tumbao out of Miami. A full length record from The Glades will be released on Tiki Tumbao in January of 2025. Addison’s song “Big Parlay Blues” was recently featured on Iggy Pop’s BBC Radio show Iggy Confidential. Addison can be seen performing with these bands weekly in Miami and in other cities across the U.S. |
Monday 4/14 John Yarling John’s drumming has been described as always being in service to the song, when supporting singer-songwriters and laying down grooves. In the next breath, he can be heard pushing boundaries, while playing open, modern, improvised music/jazz. John is also a respected educator, teaching at the Frost School of Music - University of Miami, for over 20 years. A native of Detroit, John began playing in the school wind ensemble at the age of 10, and started working professionally playing drumset at 13 in local rock, blues, and R&B bands. Moving to Miami, Florida, he continued playing percussion and drumset, and in college eventually decided on the drum set as his main area of focus. Leaving school to play and record with jazz great Ira Sullivan, John eventually joined trombone legend Curtis Fuller for the better part of a year. Ryan Kaplan Ryan Kaplan is a forward thinking saxophonist, composer, and bandleader born in Miami, FL. Recognized by organizations such and the National YoungArts foundation and the Herbie Hancock Institute, his music is heavily influenced by the current state of music as well as having roots in the history of jazz and improvised music. Ryan’s music attempts to blend the tradition with contemporary music, bringing together influences ranging from Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins to current artist like Maria Grand and Micah Thomas. Ryan has been selected by the Hancock institute to tour with Internationally acclaimed trumpeter Marquis Hill is the spring of 2025. Anemoia Anemoia is a song based, groove centered Trio made up of Armando Lopez, Andres Ferret, and Aaron Lebos. The band was born through improvisations caught on voice notes, then later transcribed into recorded song. Their self-titled debut record released just weeks before the global pandemic. During the pandemic the band used the time to start and finish their sophomore album “Lost the Plot”. The band in their first year has been lucky to have performed several exciting shows including: A sold out album release show (official ground up preparty), Nudeco Ensemble’s live streamed collaborative suite of the band’s original music, and opening for legends John Medeski, Skerik, and Stanton Moore at another sold out show in Miami. Lucas Apostoleris Born and raised in New England, Lucas Apostoleris is a composer and instrumentalist residing in Miami. Oigo Trio Adrian Gonzalez-Arredondo was born in a valley somewhere in the north of South America, raised by a first-class family in the third world. He studied piano, guitar and solfege at the Conservatorio Juan Jose Landaeta for 7 years until moving to Miami at the age of 14. Became a multi-instrumentalist out of curiosity and happenstance. Later on became a vocalist out of necessity and circumstance. He's got no Grammys or Junos or awards to boast about (except for the top prize at the 2000 Miami-Dade Community College - Kendall Campus Composition Contest, where he graduated from the Honors Department). Performed at numerous festivals throughout the country with many a bands in the past 25 years, but mostly with local stalwarts Suenalo, with whom he’s played for the last 13 years. He also spearheads his own project OIGO, a non-genre specific outfit focused on groove, songwriting and good times. Adrian has a knack for writing familiarly sounding original tunes. Jason Matthews TrioJason Matthews is a Miami-based keyboardist, composer, and producer who was born and raised in Philadelphia. After moving to Miami and graduating from UM’s Frost School of Music for music education and jazz performance, he began his career writing and producing music with his college band The Politix, eventually shelling out into his current projects Electric Kif & TWYN. Since 2014, Jason has toured internationally as a sideman with cuban singer, Danay Suarez, British blues guitarist, Matt Schofield, latin percussionist and arranger, Tony Succar & pedal steel guitarist, Roosevelt Collier. He has performed as a soloist with the New World Symphony, Asheville Symphonyand Amarillo Symphony as well as at world class events including Montreux Jazz Festival 2018, Montreal Jazz Festival 2016, Summer Stage NYC & TED Global: Rio De Janiero 2014. Jason has earned himself two Latin Grammy nominations for producing, writing, and engineering Danay Suarez’s 2017 LP Palabras Manuales. The album was nominated for “Album of The Year” as well as “Best Alternative Music Album” in the 2017 Latin Grammy Awards. The Landivar Group The Landivar group is a family trio of lifelong musicians who play and explore many genres of music, ranging from rock, jazz, fusion, blues, pop, and even Celtic Irish music . The group was formed with the idea in mind that given hard work and creativity, a great show could be brought to the people. The core of the group is the trio, but they also collaborate with different artists to produce new and unique projects. The LANDIVAR trio is a family: David Landivar on Guitar, Krister Landivar on Drums, and their father Walter Landivar on Bass. They are originally from Trujillo, Peru but have been based out of South Florida since 1996 They are fortunate to have 21 years of experience playing together which translates to their performances as the musical communication between the members is incredibly strong. The group has been performing all over the U.S and Internationally for the last 20 years. They are currently collaborating with Irish Fiddle Player, Paraic Keane, on a Celtic Irish Album and tour. Beatriz Guzman Trio Vocalist and songwriter Beatriz Guzman has been steadily making her mark in Miami’s music scene since 2018. She is a 5-time Downbeat winner, one of the most prestigious awards in jazz education. As a soloist, Beatriz has performed in major concert series such as the Miami Downtown Jazz Festival, Pompano Jazz Festival, Coconut Grove Arts Festival, SOMI Art Festival, the Jazz Education Network Conference, the Miami Beach Bandshell, and many more. She is currently a professor of the Jazz Vocal performance program at Florida International University and Miami Dade College, and is also currently recording and writing with her neo-soul group Burgundee (founding member). |
