Tuesday 3/11 Ian Muñoz Alto saxophonist Ian Muñoz, is a recent graduate from The Juilliard School with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. Ian has had the opportunity to perform alongside musicians like Sean Jones, Bruce Williams, Ira Sullivan, Billy Drummond, Bryan Carter, Hermeto Pascual, Josh Evans, Matthew Whittaker and more. A particularly cherished memory of his was, in 2017, he was a guest artist on the renowned flutist Nestor Torres' album, "Jazz Flute Traditions," which was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album. He also had the honor of being a five-time National YoungArts winner, a two-time recipient of the DownBeat Student Award and was also selected for The Next Generation Jazz Orchestra (2018, 2019, and 2020), the National Youth Orchestra Jazz ensemble with Sean Jones (2019) where he was able to internationally tour in China, Taiwan, Japan, Canada and perform at Carnegie hall in 2019. He was also selected for the 2018 Jazz Band of America and the recipient of Essentially Ellington’s Ella Fitzgerald award in 2020, where Wynton Marsalis was kind enough to comment that “This young man's playing is so intelligent and full of wit and humor.” Recently, Ian got off a 2 week tour alongside Vincent Herring and Eric Alexander, where he was able to play with the two saxophonists at venues like The Cotton Club, JZBrat, and Star Eyes in Tokyo, Japan. |

Juke JUke is a four-piece, "post-blues," hybrid with a high motor and bottomless soul.Spearheaded by frontman/harmonica-whiz/singer, Eric Garcia, JUke's content touches on non-traditional subject matter while simultaneously keeping their crowd moving with a smile on their faces. Harold Trucco is our ridiculously amazing guitar player. The addition of Korian Hannah on the drums, and the amazing Marcel Salas now have the band firing on all cylinders. JUke's high-energy live performances and imaginative lyrical depth have thrilled music fans from coast to coast. They have both backed and opened for G. Nick Tannura For the past 15 years, Guitarist Nick Tannura has been an active member of the growing South Florida original music community. His diverse style is as influenced by his appreciation for traditional jazz and blues music as it is by his affinity for contemporary Hip-Hop, soul, and rock music. He is a member/co-leader of Lemon City Trio, leads jazz based groups under his own name, and is a regular collaborator with Lauren Henderson, Twyn, and Magic City Hippies, among others. As someone who appreciates a wide variety of musical styles, his performances reflect this and feature an eclectic variety of material, sounds, and genres. Russ Spiegel Groovy, swinging, and sophisticated at the same time, versatile guitarist and composer Russ Spiegel hits all the right notes. Covering a wide variety of styles from rock and blues, to funk and Latin, as well as hard-swinging modern and most-modern jazz, Russ has been garnering rave reviews for his performances all around the world. Russ Spiegel is a commissioned composer and arranger, as well as a highlight respected international guitarist, bandleader, writer, musicologist, and award-winning sound engineer. He received his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Afterwards, Russ spent more than a decade living and performing in Europe before returning to the US, where he settled in New York City. Once there, Russ quickly became an established member of the jazz scene. He earned his masters degree in Jazz Performance during this time, studying at the City College of New York under the aegis of John Patitucci before going on to receive his doctorate in Jazz Composition at the University of Miami Frost School of Music as a Henry Mancini Institute Fellow. www.instagram.com/russspiegel/ |

Jason Arkins Jason Arkins is a 23 year old Saxophonist/Composer, and a graduate of the Frost School of Music. He is a Vandoren Emerging Artist Awardee, Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Alumni, and has performed around the US at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Dizzy's Club, and the Monterey Jazz Festival. He has also performed internationally in Japan, China, Taiwan, France, and Canada. POCKiT 2025 bio: In jazz and funk, living in the pocket is everything. POCKiT was built on that foundation—tight grooves, deep swing, and the kind of feel that lets the music breathe while staying locked in. Rooted in the rich traditions of groove-driven jazz, the South Florida-based trio—drummer Moises Linares (Mexico), keyboardist Charles “Chip” Gardner (North Carolina), and bassist Joshua Walton (Miami)—fuses their diverse backgrounds with a shared love for syncopation, soulful organ lines, and dynamic interplay. In 2018, POCKiT dropped Driving Out, Broken Funk, and Hialeah Traffic, channeling tight, syncopated grooves and fiery solos. In 2022, VERSA and Bolsillo pushed their sound further with cinematic synth textures and bold horn arrangements. Their first international tour, captured in the documentary POCKiT - Live in Mexico, showcased their raw, electrifying stage presence and chemistry. In 2024, they released En Camino, a debut album blending 4 studio compositions with 3 live recordings that capture the energy of their improvisational spirit. Addison Rifkind Addison Rifkind is a guitarist and bandleader from Studio City, CA based in Miami, FL. His unique style is rooted in the blues, soul, and bebop with deep grooves and melodic playing as its emphasis. He is the leader of the soul jazz guitar trio Fat Produce, the funky organ trio The Glades and instrumental soul band Soul Vaccinators. He is also one of the rotating guitarists for organ groove band Scone Cash Players, who just released their latest album on Daptone Records! The debut record for Fat Produce, Fresh Squeeze, is now on F-Spot Records out of Los Angeles. Addison’s group Soul Vaccinators recently released a 45 on Tiki Tumbao out of Miami. A full length record from The Glades will be released on Tiki Tumbao in January of 2025. Addison’s song “Big Parlay Blues” was recently featured on Iggy Pop’s BBC Radio show Iggy Confidential. Oigo Trio Adrian Gonzalez-Arredondo was born in a valley somewhere in the north of South America, raised by a first-class family in the third world. He studied piano, guitar and solfege at the Conservatorio Juan Jose Landaeta for 7 years until moving to Miami at the age of 14. Became a multi-instrumentalist out of curiosity and happenstance. Later on became a vocalist out of necessity and circumstance. He's got no Grammys or Junos or awards to boast about (except for the top prize at the 2000 Miami-Dade Community College - Kendall Campus Composition Contest, where he graduated from the Honors Department). Performed at numerous festivals throughout the country with many a bands in the past 25 years, but mostly with local stalwarts Suenalo, with whom he’s played for the last 13 years. He also spearheads his own project OIGO, a non-genre specific outfit focused on groove, songwriting and good times. Adrian has a knack for writing familiarly sounding original tunes. Jack Brandfield New York City Native tenor saxophonist Jack Brandfield is a passionate musician who brings his own style in carrying the torch for interpreters of the Great American Songbook. His talents have been recognized by jazz luminaries that he has shared the stage with such as John Pizzarelli, Rodney Whitaker, Bill Cunliffe, and Harry Allen. Jack holds a B.M in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University and is currently a scholarship recipient from The Frost School of Music at The University of Miami where he is completing a M.M in Studio Music and Jazz. John Yarling John’s drumming has been described as always being in service to the song, when supporting singer-songwriters and laying down grooves. In the next breath, he can be heard pushing boundaries, while playing open, modern, improvised music/jazz. John is also a respected educator, teaching at the Frost School of Music - University of Miami, for over 20 years. A native of Detroit, John began playing in the school wind ensemble at the age of 10, and started working professionally playing drumset at 13 in local rock, blues, and R&B bands. Moving to Miami, Florida, he continued playing percussion and drumset, and in college eventually decided on the drum set as his main area of focus. Leaving school to play and record with jazz great Ira Sullivan, John eventually joined trombone legend Curtis Fuller for the better part of a year.
